Public Program
Grand Opening Weekend
November 14, 2026 — November 15, 2026
Celebrate the Grand Opening Weekend of the Urban Civil Rights Museum in Harlem, New York's first museum dedicated to the northern Civil Rights experience! Explore Moving History Forward, the Museum's permanent exhibition, and Thriving! Harlem as Homeplace, a special exhibition about the power of neighborhood and communities.
Enjoy celebratory music and dance with face painting and artmaking activities all weekend. Discover the stories of Black urban life and the ongoing struggle for civil rights. Be part of this milestone as we open our doors and begin moving history forward together.
