Storytime on the Stoop: Tar Beach

Join us for Storytime on the Stoop as we read Tar Beach written and illustrated by Faith Ringgold. This story follows eight-year-old Cassie Louise Lightfoot as she lays on her Harlem rooftop in summer 1939, dreaming herself into the sky. Through an interactive read-aloud and following art making activity, families will explore themes of immigration, freedom and community. Designed for children ages 0-8 and their caregivers.

This program is free with museum admission. Reserve your spot by adding a free Storytime ticket to your admissions purchase.
